PDR stands for Paintless Dent Repair.
It is the procedure to fix minor dents, body creases, door dings or environmental damage on a vehicle. Repairs do not involve any paint or fillers as the specific technique of PDR involves less invasive work.
Compared to a regular autobody service to fix dents, paintless dent repair restores a vehicle back to like-new condition in a way that is faster, less expensive and more environmentally friendly.
PDR can fix minor automotive damage such as door dings, parking lot incidents, hail storm damage and minor collisions.
People often choose PDR because of the low cost compared to a traditional body shop repair. PDR requires far less invasive, procedures which avoids the costly parts and repairs of autobody shops.
Prices of PDR vary depending on size and location of the dent, as well as the type of metal, either steel or aluminum that your vehicle is made out of. For this reason in order to get the most accurate and fair estimate it is better to see the vehicle in person.
Polishing is the process of removing small layers of the clear coat on the body of the vehicle, such as swirl marks and scratches. This is achieved by using polishing compounds and a variety of polishing pads. If there are harder to remove scratches, a wet sand and polish is added to the process.
We will assess the damage of the scratch in person, looking for how deep the scratch is. If it is past the point of repair, we will be transparent and honest with you about your options. Most scratches are easily polished out if they are a light to medium scratch with harder scratches being tougher, but if a wet sand is used, you will see the result you want.
Stage one consists of a singular polishing compound and pad combination. this is best used for light wash scratches and swirls.
Stage two introduces a second polishing compound and another pad to the procedure. Stage two combined with stage one will help bring back the luster in your vehicles paint.

Keeping your factory paint is important for several reasons. The factory paint is meant to last in all elements because of its higher cure temperature of 176.6 degrees Celsius. Aftermarket paint however is only cured between 15 to 26 degrees Celsius which means that your vehicle wont have the same adhesion as the factory paint. Also maintaining your original paint will help with the vehicles resell value.
Cost of repairs done through your insurance may be paying your deductible of
$300 or $500 for autobody shop repairs, though sometimes PDR can be around or above the cost of your deductible it will save your wallet in the long term because it will not effect your insurance costs in the years to come.
